Lashia LLC, doing business as Health Cover Match (“Health Cover Match”, “we”, “us” or “our”), operates the website healthcovermatch.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights and choices available to you. Please read it carefully. By using the Site or submitting a quote request, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.

Health Cover Match is a health insurance comparison and referral service. We are not an insurance company, and we are not affiliated with any government agency. When you request a quote, we connect you with licensed insurance agents, agencies and marketing partners who may contact you about health insurance products.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you request a quote, we collect the information you enter in our forms, which may include your ZIP code, age, gender, household size, household income range, the type of coverage you are interested in, your first and last name, email address and telephone number, and whether you have any existing coverage.

Consent records. When you submit a form, we record the date and time of your submission, the consent language shown to you, your IP address and browser information, and, where enabled, an independent consent certificate issued by a third-party verification service (such as TrustedForm by ActiveProspect). These records document that you agreed to be contacted.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected through cookies, pixels, log files and similar technologies (see Section 5).

Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from our marketing partners, advertising networks, analytics providers and public sources, and combine it with the information described above.

Marketing partners and licensed agents. The core purpose of the Site is to share your quote request with licensed insurance agents, insurance agencies, insurance carriers and lead networks (collectively, “marketing partners”) so that they can contact you and provide quotes. We may share your information with one or more partners, and partners may share it with their own agents. In some cases we are compensated by partners for these referrals. This transfer may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state privacy laws. A description of our partners is available on our Marketing Partners page.

Service providers. We share information with vendors that help us operate the Site, such as hosting providers, consent verification services, analytics providers, email and telephony providers, and advertising platforms. These providers may use the information only to perform services for us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena or court order; to protect our rights, property or safety or those of others; to investigate fraud; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business.

Aggregated or de-identified data. We may share information that does not identify you personally for any purpose.

By submitting a quote request and checking the consent box, you provide your express written consent for Health Cover Match and our marketing partners to contact you at the telephone number and email address you provided, including by live calls, automatic telephone dialing systems, artificial or prerecorded voice messages and text messages (SMS), about health insurance products and related services. This consent applies even if your number is listed on a national, state or company Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Message and data rates may apply.

How to withdraw consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, by telling the caller that you no longer wish to be contacted, or by emailing privacy@healthcovermatch.com with your name and telephone number. Please note that partners who have already received your information will need to process your request separately; you may contact them directly, or contact us and we will forward your request.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies (small text files stored on your device), pixels, tags and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and deliver and measure advertising. Third parties such as Google, Microsoft and advertising networks may set their own cookies through the Site. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may limit some features of the Site. Some browsers also support the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we treat as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (see Section 7).

If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights.

Categories of personal information we collect and disclose. In the preceding twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email address, telephone number, IP address); personal information described in Cal. Civ. Code ยง 1798.80 (contact details); characteristics of protected classifications (age, gender); commercial information (the coverage you are interested in); internet and network activity (pages viewed, interactions with the Site); approximate geolocation (ZIP code, IP-derived location); and inferences drawn from this information. We collect this information from you directly, from your device, and from partners and service providers, for the purposes described in Section 2.

Sale and sharing. We disclose identifiers, contact details, characteristics, commercial information and geolocation to marketing partners in exchange for compensation, which is a “sale” under the CCPA, and we may disclose internet activity information to advertising partners, which may be “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by law.

Your rights. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell and share, and to access it; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; (e) limit the use of sensitive personal information; and (f) not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price or provide a different level of service because you exercised your rights.

How to exercise your rights. Submit a request through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or by emailing privacy@healthcovermatch.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”. To protect your information we will need to verify your identity, which may involve confirming details you provided in your quote request. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority. We will respond to opt-out requests within fifteen business days and to other requests within forty-five days, which may be extended once by a further forty-five days where permitted. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

Global Privacy Control. We honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control for the browser or device on which the signal is enabled.

Shine the Light. California residents may request, once per year, information about the categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Contact us as described in Section 8 to make such a request.

8. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to document consent for the periods required by law (typically at least five years for telephone consent records), and to comply with our legal obligations and resolve disputes. We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Site may contain links to websites operated by third parties, including insurance carriers and agencies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on the Site, and your continued use of the Site after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
